Short answers to the questions players ask most. If yours isn't here, the guides go deeper on strategy and the contact page reaches the developer directly.
Yes. All 100 levels can be played free in the browser or in the iOS app. Free play shows ads between some levels and in the hint flow; the optional Lifetime Pass removes every ad permanently and unlocks all level packs. There are no timers, no energy meters and no daily caps.
The iOS app works fully offline once installed; your progress is saved on the device. The web version needs a connection to load the first time, after which the game itself runs in your browser — only ads and the optional cloud sync need the network.
You have three hearts per level. Tapping a fish whose lane is blocked costs one heart. Lose all three and the level restarts — nothing else is lost. Hearts refill every time a level starts, so a restart is always free.
A hint highlights the next fish in a valid solution from the board's current state. You get a few free hints to start and can earn more by watching a short ad, or buy a pack. If no hint is available, the board is already unwinnable — use Undo or Restart.
When a fish escapes it leaves a wake of seaweed along the lane it swam through, and that seaweed blocks the lane for the rest of the level. It's the game's one unusual rule and the reason the order of your taps matters. The order guide explains it with examples.
Every ad removed forever, every level pack unlocked, and all future levels included. It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription. On the web it's paid through Razorpay; on iOS through the App Store. Progress and the pass are stored on the device you bought it on.
Yes. The game saves the highest level you've reached and your collection on the device after every win. If you clear your browser data on the web version, that saved progress is cleared with it, so the iOS app is the safer place for a long run.
A deadlock means no fish on the board has a clear lane to any wall — usually because an earlier escape laid seaweed across the only remaining exit. Every level we ship has a solution, so a deadlock always traces back to a move; Undo takes you back to it. The stuck guide has a routine for finding which move it was.
100 at the moment, from a 3×3 tank with two fish to large tanks with long fish, rocks and only a handful of winning orders. We add packs as we finish them; the Lifetime Pass includes everything we add later.
From Google (AdSense on the web, AdMob in the app). They are what keeps the game free. If you've chosen "Reject non-essential" on the cookie banner, you still see ads, but they're non-personalised. The privacy policy describes exactly what is and isn't collected.
Not as a native app yet — the Android build is on the roadmap. In the meantime the web version at fishescapegame.com runs in Chrome on Android and can be added to your home screen from the browser menu.
